5Quicker that a transit
By Michael L. Howeth
I got this to set preliminary grade on my driveway. It is sooo much quicker for a quick guess than setting up the transit.

1Just another imported P.O.S now...
By MontanaDawg
I bought this about 4 years ago, never even removed it from the sealed blister pkg, just hung it on the pegboard until yesterday when I needed it. Guess what, it didn't have a level vial in it-period. I called the toll-free number, the service rep had difficulty locating it in his database, then told me it was "not a service item" and it's past the warranty date. The out-of-warranty part is true, but I'd expect Bosch Tool to want to uphold their reputation for quality [see below].

NOT SO-the service rep Paul connected me with the national customer satisfaction guy, Ken, and he brusquely told me to ship it to the national center [there goes ~30% of the purchase price right there] and they'd "evaluate" it but he sounded doubtful that they would replace it since it was out of warranty. Does it make sense to throw another $6 shipping down the toilet? So, I'm just out the ~ twenty bucks I paid because I relied on the FORMER quality of the brand CST/Berger and didn't check it out immediately. Stupid old man, that's me.

The thing DOES appear to be sturdy but there is noticeable dust INSIDE the housing and it would have enhanced the clarity of viewing if they had bothered to spray 1/100th of a cent's worth of flat black paint inside to cut internal reflection.
.
I own an old competing model made by David White [taken over by CST in 2002] which has no stadia lines [which this P.O.S DOES have], so I'm able to do the job, but it's just irritating to find yet ANOTHER formerly high-quality USA toolmaker taken over, first by Stanley [2004] and later by Bosch [2008], production farmed out to the Chicoms and the quality/customer service shot to h e l l. "For the love of money is the root of all evil..."

I won't ever buy another CST/Berger product again unless I get a great deal on a used USA-made one. D a m n all these globalists to Hades! If you're gonna get a Chicom-made product, why pay for the brand name? Just go to HarborFreight and buy something that at least is upfront about it's origins.
